Aeronautical Engineering (A.E) stands for Bachelor of Technology in Aeronautical Engineering. It prepares graduates with knowledge, problem solving ability, hands-on skills to enter career in the design, installation, manufacturing, testing, evaluation, technical sales, or maintenance of aeronautical/aerospace systems. Aerospace engineering is the primary branch of engineering. It is divided into two major and overlapping branches: Aeronautical Engineering and Astronautics Engineering. The former deals with aircraft that operate in Earth's atmosphere, and the latter with spacecraft that operate outside it, this course is concerned with the research, design, development, construction, testing, development and manufacturing of commercial and military aircrafts, missiles, and spacecrafts.

Aerospace Engineering has immerged as a field that focuses on using materials, structures, thermodynamics and control, and work towards enhancing human mobility. Aerospace engineers who often specialize in areas such as structural design, navigation and control, instrumentation and communication are involved in developing new technologies used in aviation, space exploration, defense systems, etc. Aligning to industry demands, the course also involves study of modern subjects such as communication, software integration and use of computer-based tools that assist in solving engineering problems.

Basic Eligibility:

B. Tech: Candidate must have passed the higher secondary school certificate (10+2) examination with science subject such as biology, math and chemistry. It is mandatory to qualify in the Joint Entrance Examinations (J.E.E) for IITs.

M. Tech:Candidates those completed their B. Tech degree from any recognized university or college can take admission in Master degree of this course.

Admission Procedure:

Every college have their different admission criteria few colleges admit candidates on the basis of their marks scored in previous class and in some colleges candidates need to appear entrance examination.

Career Prospects:

Aeronautical engineers often work for large aviation companies like Airbus, Boeing and even NASA. Aerospace engineers are in great need in aircraft industrialized divisions, airline industries and air turbine production plants or designs. A.E can also seek employment in different areas such as design, development, and maintenance as well as in the managerial and teaching jobs in institutes. This is an incredibly well paid job but it is also very demanding. In future the demand for aerospace engineers is going to rise because of their requirement in various sectors. There are lots of job opportunities available in India as well as in foreign countries.
