National Law School of India University or NLSIU Bangalore is the first Indian Law University established by a statute approved by Karnataka Legislature in 1986. This Law school is the single school which is sponsored by the Bar Council of India in the aim of raising the standard of Law education in India. Important judges, lawyers and academicians have been connecting with the Law School from the very commencement and in this means; the NLSIU symbolized the only one of its kind partnership among the Bar, the Bench and the Academia.
It takes entrance exam for the both courses i.e. BA LLB and LLM .

NLSIU BA LLB Eligibility


NLSIU takes Admission to the BA LLB (Honours) course shall completely be based on the performance of Common Law Admission Test CLAT exam of the candidate. To become eligible to appear in CLAT, a student must have passed a Senior Secondary School / Intermediate (10+2) or its equivalent certificate from any recognized Board with minimum 45% marks in aggregate (40% marks are required for the SC and ST candidates) and the age of the candidate must be below 20 years of age as on the date of exam (22 years for the SC and ST candidates).

10+2 appeared candidates are also eligible to appear in the test. But the pass certificate is required at the time of their admission.

NLSIU LLM Eligibility

Eligibility criteria for the LLM program is, candidate must completed their LL. B / B. L. Degree or any equivalent degree from a recognized University with minimum 55% marks in aggregate ( 50% for the SC and ST candidates ).

Candidates that completed their required degree examination through Supplementary/Compartmental and repeat attempts are also eligible for this test.

Appeared candidates or the candidates that are waiting for their final year result may also apply for this test. But candidates have to show the final year result at the time of admission.
