Well Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST) is the first university in India, which offers doctoral and undergraduate courses in space and science technology. Taking admission to these courses are based on the ISAT Entrance Exam which is conducted by IIST.

The University is fully included with high technologies with research being carried out at the ISRO centers. It is being achieved by making the best use of R&D and by set up their own resources to train the new comers in high technology areas. On successful completion of the course students are being absorbed in ISRO as Engineers/Scientists.

  • It is open for all the states based on the ISAT score.

  • For General Category the marks required are 70% in 10 th /12 th and 60% for OBC in 10 th and 12 th .

  • Seat Reservation for the Category: SC-15%, ST-7.5%, PH/PD-3%, OBC-27%.

  • Candidates have to satisfy all the eligibility criteria mentioned below for appearing in the ISAT Entrance Exam:

  • Minimum Percentage of brands in Class X or matching examination: Candidates belonging to GEN and OBC categories should have secured at smallest 70% marks in aggregate in their Class X or matching written test, while those belonging to SC, ST and PD classes must have protected at smallest 60% brands in aggregate in their Class X or matching examination.

  • Date of Birth: Candidates belonging to Gen and OBC category should be born on or after 1 st of October 1987 and the one who belongs to SC, ST and PD category should be born on or after 1 st October 1982.

  • Smallest Percentage of brands in 10 + 2 or equivalent written test: Candidates belonging to GEN and OBC classes should secure at smallest 70% brands in the aggregate in their Physics, Chemistry and numbers (PCM) papers in their Qualifying Examination (QE), while those belonging to SC, ST, and PD classes must secure at smallest 60% marks in the aggregate in their PCM papers in their QE.

  • Citizenship: The nominee has to be an Indian civilian to request for ISAT.

  • Bachelor of Technology in Physical Sciences
  • Bachelor of Technology in Avionics Engineering

How to Apply

Candidate should register online for ISAT by logging onto the official website.

The Application Process Involves

  • Printing of Challan from the website.
  • The details of online registration and submission.
  • Postal submission of Institute Copy of Challan by Speed Post to ISAT office
  • Send the fees in any of the branches, either SBI or PNB

Test Centers

The candidate has to choose any three different cities, in the order of preference of writing ISAT, from the following centers:
Bhopal, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Patna, Varanasi, Kolkata, Jaipur, Bhubaneshwar, Delhi, Port Blair, Ranchi, Chennai, Dispur, Vishakhapatnam etc.
