Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) conducts Central Police Force (CPF) Examinations for the recruitment of Assistant Commandant. Post of Assistant Commandants is a vital part of Central Police Forces (CPF). To make everyone understand the importance and need for qualified and skilled person UPSC conduct CPF Exam which is also known as Central Police Assistant Commandant Entrance test. It is a national level civil service test conducted all over the country. It is conducted by UPSC for the recruitment to Assistant Commandants (Group A) in Central Police Forces (CPF) viz. Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), Border Security Force (BSF), Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) and Sashastra Seema BAL (SSB). The CPF exam is conducted every year according to the Rules published by Ministry of Home Affairs in Gazette of India.

1. Educational Qualification

Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree from any recognized university. Applicants appearing in final year degree exam can also apply for this exam.

2. Age

Candidate must have 20 years and not managed the age of 25 years. The prescribed upper age limits prescribed are relaxable:

  • Maximum of 5 years belongs to Scheduled Caste or a Scheduled Tribe candidate.
  • Maximum 3 years to Other Backward Classes candidates.
  • Maximum of 5 years for Central Government Servants in the agreement with the accessible instructions of Central Government. The Ex-servicemen are also eligible for this relaxation.
  • But the total relaxation given on account of Government Service is limited to 5 years.
  • Maximum of 5 years to the candidate who had generally been domiciled in State of Jammu & Kashmir during 1st January, 1980 to 31st day December, 1989.

3. Nationality

The person who doesn’t have the Indian citizenship is applicable with permission of Central Government suggested in writing be selected or employed under Rules.

b. Other limitation

1. Candidates should not have Flat Foot, Knock-knees, Varicose Veins or Squint in eyes and the one who have high color vision.
2. Applicants must have good mental and health body and doesn’t have physical defect.

Central Police Force Exam application fee

1. Applicants applying Online need to pay a reduced fee of Rs.100 (Rupees One Hundred Only) either by sending the money in SBI branch by cash, or by net banking facility of SBI or using Master Credit/Visa/ Debit Card.(excluding Female/SC/ST candidates who are let off from payment fee)
2. Candidates applying Offline need to pay a fee of Rs.200 (Rupees Two Hundred only) via single Central Recruitment Fee Stamp.

Central Police Forces Exam Pattern

Selecting the Central Police Force (AC) are made on Written Test including two papers followed by the Physical Test and Interview.

Important: The minimum qualifying marks are separate for each Paper as fixed by Union Public Service Commission. Candidates who are qualified in written examination are send for Physical Standards / Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests.

Interview / Personality Test: Candidates who are qualified in Physical Standards / Physical Efficiency Tests and Medical Standards Tests are send for CPF AC Interview / Personality Test conducted by Union Public Service Commission.
Candidate who are affirmed medically unfit though allowed to appear before “Review Medical Board” on their request by Appellate Authority are called for CPF Assistant Commandant Interview / Personality Tests for the time being. The Central Police Force Interview / Personality Test carry 150 Marks.

Applicants short listed for CPF Interview / Personality Test, with those short-listed for Interview / Personality Test are issued a (DAF) Detailed Application Form. Female candidate are eligible for CRPF, CISF and SSB only, they need to indicate their penchant for CRPF, CISF and SSB only.

Final Selection / Merit : Merit list are drawn on the basis of marks gain by the applicants in Central Police Force AC Written Examination and Central Police Force Interview / Personality Test.
